Box Office Updates - Eclipse Leads 4th of July Weekend


TWILIGHT FANS REJOICE ECLIPSE IS 1#

In what was actually a rather disappointing 4th of July weekend. Eclipse, unsurprisingly came out on top. With $69 Million for the weekend this boosts the total gross of the movie to a huge $161 Million. Fighting, the worst reviews of the entire year, "The Last Airbender" somehow managed to place second earning an estimated $40 Million. The movie opened on Thursday which brings its total gross to $57 Million. Third place finisher, "Toy Story 3" continued to impress with a $30 Million weekend bringing it's total gross to $289 Million. Toy Story 3 is looking like a strong contender for overall highest grossing movie of the year.

The top 10 movies at the box office were as follows.........

1 - The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - $69 Million

2 - The Last Airbender - $40 Million

3 - Toy Story 3 - $30 Million

4 - Grown Ups - $18 Million

5 - Knight and Day - $10 Million

6 - The Karate Kid - $8 Million

7 - The A-Team - $3 Million

8 - Get Him to the Greek - $1 Million

9 - Shrek Forever After - $779,000

10 - Cyrus - $770,000
